Uses | Ethosuximide is used to control absence seizures. |
How to Use | Take ethosuximide as prescribed: do not adjust dosage without prior approval from your doctor. Ethosuximide may be taken with food. |
Side Effects | Reactions may include cramps, nausea, vomiting, weight loss, diarrhea, drowsiness, skin rash, and abnormalities of the blood. |
Precautions | Patients taking ethosuximide should have frequent blood checks. Close supervision should be given to those who suffer from kidney or lung problems. Women should inform their doctors if they become pregnant. Do not use ethosuximide while breast feeding. Use extreme caution when operating machinery or driving. If you experience multiple seizures and use this drug by itself, tell your doctor before starting treatment. |
Missed Dose | Take as soon as you remember; then resume medication schedule. |
Storage | Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, away from children, heat, light and moisture. |
