    Parent to Parent Program
Are you a parent of a child or adolescent with epilepsy in need of support and information? Having difficulty finding the time to come out to a support group?

Epilepsy Toronto's new Parent to Parent Program will provide emotional and informational support to parents of children who have epilepsy. This program will provide parents with the flexibility to decide how and when they wish to be supported. In person, on the telephone, or electronic mail will be the some of the ways you can communicate with your support person. You decide whether you require long term, short term or periodic contact with your support person.

There are 2 components to this program:
      1. matching parents of children/adolescents with epilepsy who have similar seizure types, medications, and concerns, etc. These parents are matched in a one-on-one relationship.
      2. matching trained and experienced veteran parents in one-on-one relationships with parents who are newly referred to the program. Because the veteran parent has the shared experience of a disability in the family, the veteran parent is often able to provide a unique form of support that only another parent who has "been there" can.
Epilepsy Toronto is now recruiting 'veteran' parents to participate in this dynamic new program. Veteran parents are provided a 3-hour training session and then matched with a referral parent. Parents who wish to be considered as 'referral parents' to be matched with a 'veteran parent' or a parent with similar needs are also needed.

To be considered for this program or for more information please contact Theo Selles, Adult and Children ServicesCoordinator at Epilepsy Toronto.

    Board of Directors/Committee Members
Are you looking at getting involved behind the scenes? The Board of Directors of Epilepsy Toronto is actively looking for individuals with great people skills, an area of expertise, and leadership abilities to become part of the board or participate on one of the various committees. I would love to speak with you about the opportunities that presently exist and how we could use your skills. The time commitment is not as much as you think and it is a great way to have a voice in the long-term vision of the agency.

Please contact Theo Selles if you are interested.

Parent of Young Adults & Teenager Support Group
