Epilepsy Ontario proudly announces Summerfest 2007, a wonderful opportunity for children living with epilepsy to enjoy summer camp at the fun-filled Camp Couchiching! Summerfest is a camping event for boys and girls, ages 7-16, who have epilepsy. This two week program (one week for those who require one-on-one mentoring) will provide your child with an exciting, integrated and independent camping experience. We provide a camp environment filled with fun experiences and memories that last a lifetime. Let your child share in the delight of camp at Summerfest to ensure a summer to remember.
Registration Information
Space is restricted and is filled on a first come, first serve basis. Completed registration forms must be received by the Epilepsy Ontario office, with your deposit, by March 8, 2007. Camper sponsorships may be available for members of Epilepsy Ontario Chapters and upon the approval of the Sponsorship Request Application. Children with intractable epilepsy will be accepted for mentoring care sessions at camp either in July or August. All registrations are reviewed by the Applicant Review Committee which reserves the right to refuse acceptance. Siblings may also apply to attend

Medical Assistance
Summerfest's staff includes a health services director and professional medical staff, who reside on site, and an on-call local doctor, to provide 24-hour care.
Epilepsy Ontario provides additional nursing staff to aid the usual health staff for the duration of the Summerfest. Although some special supervision may be necessary, it is important to realize that over-protection may cause your child to become dependent and lose self-confidence. This camping experience will help your child develop a sense of independence and personal fulfillment. The care and safety of campers is the staff's primary concern for ensuring an enjoyable time at Summerfest. Please ask for additional information on our mentoring program for those with special needs.
