Levetiracetam in Canada

Lundbeck Canada Inc. announced in January that it has acquired the exclusive rights to market Keppra® (levetiracetam) in Canada from UCB Pharma Inc. Levetiracetam has been approved in several European countries and the United States, where it is indicated as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial onset seizures in adults with epilepsy. It is currently under review by Health Canada's Therapeutic Products Directorate.

No projected date has been determined by Lundbeck Canada to begin its distribution in this country.
 
Lundbeck Canada Inc. (Montréal) is a subsidiary of the Danish research-based pharmaceutical company which develops and markets medications used to treat psychiatric and neurological disorders. Its products include Celexa® (citalopram hydrobromide) for the treatment of depression, and Clopixol® (zuclopenthixol) and Fluanxol® (flupenthixol decanoate and dihydrochloride) for the treatment of schizophrenia. Lundbeck is developing products to treat Alzheimer's disease, depression, Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia.
