Driving & EpilepsySeniors with epilepsy whose seizures are fully controlled with medication can qualify to drive in Ontario. A doctor's statement concerning the person's medical status is required by the Ministry of Transportation before a license can be issued. Seniors over the age of 80 must take a driving test.
Anyone, regardless of age, who has seizures with loss of consciousness, should not drive. If driving is not an option, seniors may choose to use public transportation, or obtain assistance from local transportation services designed for seniors and disabled persons.
