Epilepsy Waterloo Wellington is a community based agency whose team of caring volunteers and staff are dedicated to improving the quality of life for those with epilepsy; through counselling, education, advocacy and public awareness.

Epilepsy Waterloo Wellington has been operating since 1982. We are located in Kitchener Ontario and we service both Waterloo and Wellington counties. Our agency offers its members financial assistance with transportation and medical emergencies, employment support, a resource library, our quarterly newsletter, The Epilogue, internet access and information sessions with medical experts.

We offer monthly support groups for adults living with epilepsy, women with epilepsy and parents whose children have epilepsy. We also offer a Lunch Bunch program that meets once a month. This group meets for lunch, discusses nutritional information and collects recipes to share with the group.

This year our agency offered a Bowen Clinic with Liz Corbett for members between May to November 2008 as an alternative therapy to decrease their seizures. There will be a clinical report provided to us at the end of this year that will outline the results.

This summer we offered clinical trials for Brain Fitness, a software program, that is designed to improve memory, sharpen thinking and increase attention span. Our agency will be purchasing this software for members to use at our agency and we will be subsidizing members for personal purchases.

Throughout the year, our agency shows appreciation to our members by hosting bowling nights, hockey games, potlucks and picnics.

We enjoy servicing our clients and working with our community partners. We have made a difference in our community and we continually strive to bring epilepsy out of the shadows!
