A Medication Update: Mysoline

Mysoline (primidone) is assumed to be currently unavailable through regular distribution in Canada. In the summer of 2003 the supply was discontinued by the manufacturer – Draxis – and the appropriate authorities and pharmacists were informed so that patients could make alternative treatment plans with their physician or neurologist.

At this time the emergency inventory has been exhausted. It is possible that some pharmacies or wholesalers may still have their own stock of the medications but it is extremely unlikely that this is the case.

The brand is still available outside of Canada. If it is imperative that you, or someone you know remain on the medication you should discuss with your doctor the possibility of securing them on a compassionate basis.

For more information contact Draxis at 905-677-5500
