50th Anniversary

We are delighted that Epilepsy Ontario, established January 20, 1956, has been able to continuously provide programs and services for people living with epilepsy and seizure disorders in Ontario for the past fifty years. We have a long history and success rate of establishing community chapters to help provide these services while improving the quality of life for all people directly and indirectly affected by epilepsy in our province.

Our website www.epilepsyontario.org is visited each week by 8,000 people accessing over 3 millions files each year and we are able to refer and help people on our toll free help line from all over the province. To help provide up to date educational materials we produce our quarterly newsletter and various educational pamphlets, kits and CD ROMS on such topics as Parent/Caregiver information, women, seniors, recreational materials, and our exciting reader theater 'Perfection' for grade school students, etc.
For the past twelve years we have co-ordinated a summer camp for children living with epilepsy while assisting with sponsorship fees. Last year the first annual youth fall retreat was held.
As we look back over the past 50 years we thank all those who have helped to make our successes a reality. Our staff and volunteers are excited with the upcoming 50th anniversary celebrations while launching some exciting new programs and services to continue to improve the quality of life for all Ontarians affected with epilepsy.
